Forehead is the game everyone has played with a sticky note on their head, and the phone version made famous by Heads Up. One player holds their screen up so they cannot see it; everyone else can, and shouts clues until they get it.
The twist that makes it a party game rather than a quiz: the clue-giving is the performance. Watching four people talk over each other trying to describe "Escalator" without saying stairs is the entire point.
Here everyone plays on their own phone, so nobody has to pass a device around a table or trust the person holding it not to peek. The word simply never gets sent to the guesser — everyone else sees it, they see a clock.
How to play Forehead
- 1Create a room and share the 6-letter code with 2 or more friends.
- 2One player is up. Their screen shows a timer and nothing else.
- 3Everyone else sees the word and shouts clues — no saying the word itself.
- 4The guesser taps Got it to score and get another word, or Pass to move on.
- 5Correct guesses keep coming until the clock runs out, then the next player is up.
Forehead FAQ
How is this different from playing Heads Up with one phone?+
Nobody has to pass a device around. Everyone reads the word on their own screen, and the guesser's phone never receives it at all — so there is nothing to accidentally see.
How many people do you need?+
Three or more. One guesses and the rest give clues, so with two it is just one person describing, which works but is a lot quieter.
What words does it use?+
The same word lists as Dumb Charades and Taboo — everyday objects, Hollywood and Bollywood films, animated titles and a cricket pack. The host picks which ones are in play.
Can we play it over a video call?+
Yes, and it works well — open the room on your phones, keep the call running, and shout clues down the line.
