Think Alike is the party game where originality is a liability. Everyone gets the same prompt — "name a fruit that is red" — and the answer the most people wrote takes the points. Say apple with four other people and you all score. Say pomegranate on your own and you lose two.

It sounds trivial until the prompts get harder, and then it turns into the interesting question: what do the people in this room actually have in common? A group of school friends and a group of colleagues will not answer "name a reason for being late" the same way, and that is the game.

We run the whole thing — the prompt, the clock, the grouping and the scoring. Spelling does not split a group either: SRK, Shah Rukh and shahrukh khan all count as one answer.

How to play Think Alike

  1. 1Create a room and share the 6-letter code with 3 or more friends.
  2. 2Everyone sees the same prompt and types one answer, privately — you can see who has answered, never what they wrote.
  3. 3When everyone is in, all the answers are revealed and grouped together.
  4. 4The biggest group scores, and the more people in it, the more it pays.
  5. 5Anyone alone with a unique answer takes the black-sheep penalty — but only if the rest of the room agreed on something.

Think Alike FAQ

How many people do you need to play Think Alike?+

Three at a minimum, and it gets better with more — up to 12 in one room. With five or six the majority answers stop being obvious, which is when it gets fun.

What happens if two answers tie?+

Both groups score for matching, but neither gets the majority bonus. There is no single winning answer that round.

Do I lose points for being the only one with an answer?+

Only if somebody else matched somebody. If all five of you write something different, nobody is penalised — that is a difficult prompt, not five wrong players.

Does spelling matter?+

No. Answers are grouped after ignoring case, punctuation, accents and a leading "the", and a curated list of nicknames and spellings is matched on top — so SRK and Shah Rukh Khan count as the same answer.

Is there an Indian version of the prompts?+

Yes. The Desi pack adds prompts about Bollywood, cricket, street food and Indian households, and the host can turn it on before the game starts.
